Acts of the Apostles

CE'PTU XXII. Chapter 22
NInituk, nikane'ituk, ipi Nose'ituk; psItumok, wanInkon e'winatmatsoian. 1 Men, brethren, and fathers, hear ye my defence which I make now unto you.
22:2 (Pic cI kanotwawat e'kikitonIt, e'shumnIt ni Ipnoiun, wusimI tokum kiik icI otI okinan;) 2 (And when they heard that he spake in the Hebrew tongue to them, they kept the more silence: and he saith,)
22:3 We'we'nI nin, Cw nInI, nkitshInik shi Tasusuk, kcI otanuk, shi Sinishie'uk e'kiwuk, nIshcI nkit shIkishuk, shotI kcI-otanuk, e'tIste'pIt Ke'me'niIn, ipi nkiknomako, omIno tpakwnuke'onuwa, kikosnanuk, ipi nkipmitwa Kshe'mIne'to ke'cwa kinwa e'totme'k nkom e'kishkiwuk. 3 I am verily a man which am a Jew, born in Tarsus, a city in Cilicia, yet brought up in this city at the feet of Gamaliel, and taught according to the perfect manner of the law of the fathers, and was zealous toward God, as ye all are this day.
22:4 Nkimiashtotwak, ipi nkinsak otI kashu te'pwe'ie'ntukuk, nkitkopInak, ipi nkipitike'nak kpakotiwkumkok nInwuk, ipi kwe'k. 4 And I persecuted this way unto the death, binding and delivering into prisons both men and women.
22:5 Ipi ke'iapI ke'cme'matmot, nkuke'nmuk, ipi caye'k, kakitocIk, kinakanse'cIk, winwa ke'iapI, nkiminkok, ni msInukInIn e'wimacitwukwa ki nikane' iuk, ipi nkishia ipI Te'me'ske'suk e'wipie'nkwa, shi te'kopsocuk, Cinose'ne'muk e'wipsItie'kaswat. 5 As also the high priest doth bear me witness, and all the estate of the elders: from whom also I received letters unto the brethren, and went to Damascus, to bring them which were there bound unto Jerusalem, for to be punished.
22:6 OtIcI kanomkuk, me'kwa e'ie' ipI shiaian, ipi pe'shoc kanImItnIsian shi Te'me'skusuk, e'na‘wkwe'k, kie'nup kikcIwase'ia ociiukwan shpumuk nkiwa wase'shkmakon kiwtayiukwan. 6 And it came to pass, that, as I made my journey, and was come nigh unto Damascus about noon, suddenly there shone from heaven a great light round about me.
22:7 Ipi nkipmukocIn shi ne'kwukik; ipi nkinotan notakwsuwun, otIki kitomkIt, San, San, We'kwnicI we'cmiashtotwun? 7 And I fell unto the ground, and heard a voice saying unto me, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?
22:8 OtI cI nkishInkwe'twa, We'nicI kin, Te'pe'nke'n? otI cI nkinuk, ninsI Cisus Ne'se'ni nInI, kin me'ashtotwin. 8 And I answered, Who art thou, Lord? And he said unto me, I am Jesus of Nazareth, whom thou persecutest.
22:9 KicI kapmowice'okuk, we'we'nI okiw aptanawa e'wase'anuk, ipi kise'ksik, nIshcI cokinotwasiwawan nikaki noshcIn. 9 And they that were with me saw indeed the light, and were afraid; but they heard not the voice of him that spake to me.
22:10 OtI cI nkikIt, We'kwnicI ke'totman Te'pe'nke'n, icI o Te'pe'nke't otI nkinuk Psukwin ipi shian Te'me'skusuk, shiw kwshI kuwitmako, cake'ko e'ne'nmukon waoshIton. 10 And I said, What shall I do, Lord? And the Lord said unto me, Arise, and go into Damascus; and there it shall be told thee of all things which are appointed for thee to do.
22:11 Pic cI kapwan apian e'pic iasikwe' sian i e'wase'iak, nkipmIskInkInkok, ki kapmowice'ocuk, nkipie'shia Te'me'skusuk. 11 And when I could not see for the glory of that light, being led by the hand of them that were with me, I came into Damascus.
22:12 Nkot E'ne'naye's, kwiuk nInI, shi tpakwnuk e'wunuk, caye'k ni CwiIn kamnotshumkot shi katancIn; 12 And one Ananias, a devout man according to the law, having a good report of all the Jews which dwelt there,
22:13 Nkipie' naskak, kinipwawak, ipi otI nkinuk, Nikane' San, n‘I ntuwapIn icI pic i tpukIn, nkiwapma. 13 Came unto me, and stood, and said unto me, Brother Saul, receive thy sight. And the same hour I looked up upon him.
22:14 OtI cI nkinuk, O Kshe'mIne'tomwan ki kosnanuk, kiwe'napmuk e'wike'n tumIn iw tIne'ntumwun, ipi e'wi wapmIt o Nkot Kwiuk; ipi e'winotmIn iw kikitowun shiw tonik. 14 And he said, The God of our fathers hath chosen thee, that thou shouldest know his will, and see that Just One, and shouldest hear the voice of his mouth.
22:15 Kin ke'ocI kuke'ntumwat caye'knInwuk, caye'k, i kawaptumIn, ipi kanotmIn. 15 For thou shalt be his witness unto all men of what thou hast seen and heard.
22:16 We'kwnicI nkom e'pwiton? Psukwin ipi kcItapie'nkason, e'wiksIiapawe'k kmiashsuwe'psiwnIn, nume'ki to‘w Kshe'mIne'to shi tInoswunuk. 16 And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.
22:17 OtI cI kanomkuk, minI shi kapiaian Cinose'ne'muk e'ie' numaian shi nume'okumkok nkiapwa; 17 And it came to pass, that, when I was come again to Jerusalem, even while I prayed in the temple, I was in a trance;
22:18 Ipi nkiwapma, otI nkinuk, Ke'npIsIn, ipi kie'nup sak-In shi Cinose'ne'muk, osamco, okIte'pwe'tsinawa, kukie'kwe'wun, e'shmiIn. 18 And saw him saying unto me, Make haste, and get thee quickly out of Jerusalem: for they will not receive thy testimony concerning me.
22:19 OtIcI nkikIt, Te'pe'nke'n, nkw ke'nmukok, e'kikpakwokwa, ipi e'ki psItie'kwa shi e'tsuk nume'okum kwe'n ki kate'pwe'ie'nmukwiIn. 19 And I said, Lord, they know that I imprisoned and beat in every synagogue them that believed on thee:
22:20 Pic cI omuskwim kupmitakaiIm StipIn, kasikwe'pnukate'nuk, ninke'iapI shi nkinipow; ipi e'te'pwe'tman, iw o nupwun; ipi nkiknInmowak paskumwacIn kikansacuk. 20 And when the blood of thy martyr Stephen was shed, I also was standing by, and consenting unto his death, and kept the raiment of them that slew him.
22:21 OcI cI nkinuk, Nmumacin; knokanIn; pnoc, shi e'ce'iuwat ki Me'ikIscIk. 21 And he said unto me, Depart: for I will send thee far hence unto the Gentiles.
22:22 OkipsItwawancI, nashcI otI kakItnIt. kiwishkwe'we'ksik, ipi otI kikItwuk, Macinuk, otI e'shwe'psIt nInI, shotI kik; cosupite'ntakwsIsi e'wi pmatsIt. 22 And they gave him audience unto this word, and then lifted up their voices, and said, Away with such a fellow from the earth: for it is not fit that he should live.
22:23 E'ie' wishkwe'we'ksuwat ipi e'kiskonie' wat, ipi ne'kwukI shpumuk e'ie' puk itowat; 23 And as they cried out, and cast off their clothes, and threw dust into the air,
22:24 KcI kapte'n kishuwe' e'wipitikIckas nIt shi wakakInuk, ipi kishuwe' e'wipsItie'kasnIt, e'wiocIke'nmawat we'c i shumkot ni nIshInape'n. 24 The chief captain commanded him to be brought into the castle, and bade that he should be examined by scourging; that he might know wherefore they cried so against him.
22:25 Me'kwacI, e'ie' tkopnawat ni mishakIn tkopcIkInIn Pan; okinan, niw okuman cikiwukwan kanipwunIt inI ktIne'ntakwsum shi tpakwnuke'wunuk e'wipsItie'we'k, Nome'n, nInI e'pwamshI tpakwnIt. 25 And as they bound him with thongs, Paul said unto the centurion that stood by, Is it lawful for you to scourge a man that is a Roman, and uncondemned?
22:26 Pic cI kanotwat o okuma kishie'wak ipi okiwitmowan ni kcI kapte'nIn otI okinan, ikwamsuk otI e'totme'k osam Nome'n nInI otI. 26 When the centurion heard that, he went and told the chief captain, saying, Take heed what thou doest: for this man is a Roman.
22:27 IcI kcI kapte'n kipie' ipi otI, okinan, WitmoshIn kinI Nome'nInI? OtI cI kikito e'‘. 27 Then the chief captain came, and said unto him, Tell me, art thou a Roman? He said, Yea.
22:28 IcI o kcI kapte'n, okinkwe'twan, mce'sh shonia nkimikwe'-e'ki-kikishpIne'toian te'pe'ntuswun; Pan cI otI ki kIto ninkinik, e'tupe'ntusian. 28 And the chief captain answered, With a great sum obtained I this freedom. And Paul said, But I was free born.
22:29 Kie'nupcI okinknawan, kiw wak e'nmapninuk, ipi ke' o kcI kapte'n kise'kse', kake'nmat, win Nome'n nInwunIt, osam win okitkopnan. 29 Then straightway they departed from him which should have examined him: and the chief captain also was afraid, after he knew that he was a Roman, and because he had bound him.
22:30 IcI wiapnIwuk, e'wike'ntuk i e'nomkItnuk, e'mcItshumkot ni CwiIn, okiiapwan shi nIcinuk, ipi okinan ni ke'cmatmoncIn, ipi caye'k okikitonawan e'wipianIt, ipi okipie'niswunan, ni panIn, ipi okicipitupan e'nasmup wat. 30 On the morrow, because he would have known the certainty wherefore he was accused of the Jews, he loosed him from his bands, and commanded the chief priests and all their council to appear, and brought Paul down, and set him before them.
