ICI e'kiknonat Cisus ni maocatincIn, ipi ni ke'knomoacIn; | 1 Then spake Jesus to the multitude, and to his disciples, |
23:2 OtI kikito, kisI We'npie'ke'cuk, ipi ki Pe'nisiuk cipitupwuk shi Mosus o cipitupwunuk, | 2 Saying, The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat: |
23:3 Caye'k cI we'kwe'ntuk kie'shI kie'kumukuwe'kwe'n, iw ke'shI naktuwe'ntume'k ipi i ke'totme'k, ke'kowi i shIcke'ke'kon, i e'shcIke'wat kItwuk sI mtIno cocowi i shIcke'sik. | 3 All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not. |
23:4 NapItmake'k sI ni wiwsha‘wunIn kwe'skonuk e'wipmotmuk, icI shi e'towawat otInmaknInuk ninInwun, winwa cowi co e'winmatnumwat tIna nkot onIciwan. | 4 For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men's shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers. |
23:5 E'wiwipmukwat sI ni nInwun, i caye'k we'cnInkie'wat; ipi omukite'tonawan ke'ni wiasotkwe'psonawan ipi omukite'tonawan ni se'kacknIn shiw piskumwakInawak. | 5 But all their works they do for to be seen of men: they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their garments, |
23:6 Ipi, ome'nwe'ntanawa e'shpI oshIckate'nuk, e'tshI wikwtowut, ipi ni nakansIncIn e'ci cipitupnIt, shi nume'okumkok. | 6 And love the uppermost rooms at feasts, and the chief seats in the synagogues, |
23:7 Ipi e'numkotwa shiw e'tshutatuk, ipi e'wikowat ni nInwun, Ke'knomake't, Ke'knomake't. | 7 And greetings in the markets, and to be called of men, Rabbi, Rabbi. |
23:8 Ke'ko wi kinwa, Ke'knomake', ShInkaske'k, mtIno nkot we' Ke'knomakwie'k Knayst cI o kinwacI caye'k ktowikane'itum. | 8 But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren. |
23:9 Ke'ko wi wIiI nInI Nos shInkanake'k shotI kik nkotwe' mtIno Koswa shpumuk e'iIt, kishkok. | 9 And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven. |
23:10 Ke'kowike' Te'pe'nke't, shInkaske'kon, nkot wI Te'pe'nmukwie'k o Knayst, | 10 Neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master, even Christ. |
23:11 We'kwe'ntuk ke'cI pite'ntakwsIt kinwa, oie'o ke'pmitakaiwut. | 11 But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant. |
23:12 We'kwe'ntuk ke' ke'kcI pite'ntuk wia‘w, oie'o ke'niswe'ntakwsIt, ipi ke'o ke'psuwe'ntuk wia‘w oie'o ke'kcI pite'ntakwsIt. | 12 And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted. |
23:13 Kokwansukumuk kinwa we'npie'ke'ie'k, ipi kinwa Pe'nisiuk, e'nume'kasie'k! kikupakwumwawa kinInwuk shpumuk iw okumauwun, cocke' kinwa tpInwe' kpitike'sim, coke' kitine'nmasiwak wanmupitike'cuk e'wi pitike'wat. | 13 But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in. |
23:14 Kokwansukumuk kinwa we'npie'ke'ie'k, ipi kinwa Pe'nisiuk e'nume'kasie'k; kcakitumwawak shakaocIk, otowikwamwam, ipi nIsh knoe'sh ktItnankitonum, e'mumatumoie'k; iwcI i kotIskonawa wusimI mIcitotatwun. | 14 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows' houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation. |
23:15 Ko kwansukumuk sI kinwa we'npie'ke'ie'k, ipi kinwa Pe'nisiuk, e'nume'kasiuk! kiwtashkanawa i kcukum, ipi ikI, e'wimkowe'k nkot, wawitokwe'k, pic cI witokone'k, nishuk wusimI kitIshawa win, onicansumkot shi namkumuk, icI kinwa e'shwe'psie'k. | 15 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves. |
23:16 Kokwansukumuk kinwa ke'kie'pikwaie'k nakanwusie'k, otI e'kItie'k, We'kwe'ntuk ke'kie'tnamtakwsukwe'n, i kcI nume'okumuk, coke'ko nomkIsnon, we'kwe'ntuk cie'k ke'kie'tnamtakwsukwe'n i osawshonia kcInumie'okumkok, kawite'pwe'. | 16 Woe unto you, ye blind guides, which say, Whosoever shall swear by the temple, it is nothing; but whosoever shall swear by the gold of the temple, he is a debtor! |
23:17 Kukie'patsIm, ipi kukie'pikwam, We'kwni cI wusimI e'pite'ntakwuk i osawshonia tanake' i kcInume'okumuk we'c te'pe'ntakwuk i osawshonia? | 17 Ye fools and blind: for whether is greater, the gold, or the temple that sanctifieth the gold? |
23:18 Ipi we'kwe'ntuk ke'kie'tnamtakwsukwe'n shi e'tshipitakwe'k, coke'ko nomkIsnon we'kwe'ntukie'k ke' kie'tnamtakwsukwe'n i kie'pitakwe'k, ka‘wite'pwe'. | 18 And, Whosoever shall swear by the altar, it is nothing; but whosoever sweareth by the gift that is upon it, he is guilty. |
23:19 Kukie'patsIm, ipi kukie'pikwam, We'kwni cI wusimI e'pite'ntakwuk, ipatakwe'k, tanake' i e'tshI pitakwe'k, te'pe'ntuk i pitakwe'wun. | 19 Ye fools and blind: for whether is greater, the gift, or the altar that sanctifieth the gift? |
23:20 Wikwe'ntuke' ke'kie'tnamtakwsukwe'n, shi e'tshi pitakwe'k, ke'kie'tnamtakwsu shi ipi ni caye'k ke'ko kwIciukwan e'te'nuk. | 20 Whoso therefore shall swear by the altar, sweareth by it, and by all things thereon. |
23:21 Ipi we'kwe'ntuk ke'kie'tnamtakwsukwe'n i kcI nume'okumuk ke'kie'tnamtakwsu, ipi ni shi pituk e'inIncIn. | 21 And whoso shall swear by the temple, sweareth by it, and by him that dwelleth therein. |
23:22 Ipi we'kwe'ntuk ke'kie'tnamtakwsukwe'n, shi shpumuk kishkok, ke'kie'tnamtakwsu shi Kshe'mIne'to Ocipitupwun, ipi ni shi capitupnIt. | 22 And he that shall swear by heaven, sweareth by the throne of God, and by him that sitteth thereon. |
23:23 Kokwansukumuk kinwa we'npie'ke'ie'k, ipi kinwa, Pe'nisiuk, e'nume'kasie'k! me'tatsukIn kitpumakIn, i mInIt ipi e'nIs, ipi kumIn, icI kiswe'tonawa ke'c pite'ntakwukIn, i tpakwnuke'e'wun; shuwe'ntuwun, ipi te'pwe'ne'ntumwun; notI sI i e'ni takitotme'k; cocI ktakinkItsinawan i nomkukipIn. | 23 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone. |
23:24 Ke' kie'pikwaie'k nakaniie'k! e'cikwakmIshkane'k, nIshpukos, icI wi e'kme'k kco we'si. | 24 Ye blind guides, which strain at a gnat, and swallow a camel. |
23:25 Kokwansukumuk kinwa, we'npie'ke'ie'k, ipi, kinwa Pe'nisiuk e'nume'kasie'k, kinwa kpintonawa Sakiciiukwan i mnukwackIn, ipi i onakIn, shi cowi pic iukwan moshkine'mkIt wie'shke'wun, ipi me'anuk. | 25 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess. |
23:26 Kin ke'kie'pikwan e' Pe'nisiwin! Pinakwton ne'tum, shi piciukwan i mnukwackIn, ipi onakIn, icI shi sakici iukwan ke' kupinakwton. | 26 Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also. |
23:27 Kokwansukumuk kinwa, we'npie'ke'ie'k ipi kinwa Pe'nisiuk, e'nume'kasie'k! ke'cwa kinwa e'shnakwse'ie'k i wapshkIckate'k cipe'‘okumkwe'n, we'we'nI e'mnwapme'nakwuk sakici iukwan shi ca‘wi pic iukwan moshkIne'ton ne'pcuknInwuk otoknimwan, ipi caye'k wanakwuk. | 27 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness. |
23:28 IusukI kinwa; nasap sakici iukwan kte'napme'nakwsum me'noshuwe'psukIn e'wi napmukwie'k nInwuk, piciukwan ca‘wi kmoshknIstonawa nume'kaswun, ipi mIcIshuwe'psuwun. | 28 Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity. |
23:29 Kokwansukumuk kinwa, we'npie'ke'ie'k, ipi kinwa, Pe'nisiuk e'nume'kasie'k! kitoshtawawak maokiocipe'‘kumukom-wan, ki nakanacimocuk ipi kiakume'tum-wawak, ni ocipe'‘kumukomwan ki ne'pwaka pIninuk. | 29 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye build the tombs of the prophets, and garnish the sepulchres of the righteous, |
23:30 OtI e'kItie'k kishpIn ie'iakpIn e'ie'pmatsuwat nosnanuk, contakinatmoasimIn, pic ne'sawat ni nakanacimoncIn. | 30 And say, If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets. |
23:31 TInicI kwawintusom sI kinwa, e'winicansumkoie'k kikansacuk nakanacimoncIn. | 31 Wherefore ye be witnesses unto yourselves, that ye are the children of them which killed the prophets. |
23:32 MoshkInitok sI i, otpukInwan kikoswak. | 32 Fill ye up then the measure of your fathers. |
23:33 MIntoie'k; iaianke' pmatsie'k pwatacke'ie'kme'ntoie'k tInicI ke'cI ktIski-ie'k shi pnatsowun namkumuk: shkote'k? | 33 Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell? |
23:34 PInI, kipukite'nmonum ki nakanacimocuk ipi ne'pwakacuk nInwuk, ipi we'npie'ke'cuk, anIt cI kInsawak, ipi kIskakwawak, anIt ke' kupsItie'wawak shi kte'nume'okumkowak, ipi kukwtukawak onukmuk otanuk. | 34 Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and some of them ye shall kill and crucify; and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city: |
23:35 Kinwa cI ktakshkakwnawa piamkuk caye'k i maywakawun mskwI kasikwe'pnukate'k shotI kik, omuskwim E'pun, kanpwakat, nash mIskwim o Se'kinaye's kaokwIsmukot Pe'nukaye's, katpIne'k na‘oiukwan shi kcI-nume'okumkok, ipi shi e'tshi pitakwe'k. | 35 That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar. |
23:36 We'we'nI ktInum caye'k notI okupie'naskakwnawa kotI pe'matse'cuk. | 36 Verily I say unto you, All these things shall come upon this generation. |
23:37 O Cinose'nam! Cinose'nam! kin kansItwa ki nakanacimocuk ipi e'ki pmIsInwutwa, ki kapkItnumakon; tunitsuk taki maotInkwa knicansuk, ke'cwa pkuakwa e'maotoshmat opunsha ne'imIn, namiukwan onukwiknuk; co cI kine'ntusinawa? | 37 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not! |
23:38 PInI! ku wikwamwa kinukitumakom pe'pshukwu‘te'. | 38 Behold, your house is left unto you desolate. |
23:39 OtI ktInum, Co wi minI kuwapmIsim, nash, pama otI kItie'k, MnawankosI o pie'iat shiw otunoswunuk Kshe'mIne'ton. | 39 For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord. |
