Then went the Pharisees, and took counsel how they might entangle him in his talk.
[16] Otochkinewźmowan ipi anet Herodianįg ekitonog:[1] Ekģnomakōyin, nikikentamin, tepweyin eji kikinomakźyin KijeMennito otichtwawin, tcho woyi kikosąsi tchoke woyi wossime kitepitźnimaÆsi.
And they sent out unto him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, Master , we know that thou art true, and teachest the way of God in truth, neither carest thou for any man: for thou regardest not the person of men.
[17] Witamauwichinį[y]tchi tenidji enźntamin, kwiżukne iw enomikat, ewi tipamśk Cęsar (kitchi okuma) [2] tipamadiwin?
Tell us therefore, What thinkest thou? Is it lawful to give tribute unto Caesar [a great leader], or not?
[18] JESOS tchi kikennituk omitchičnźntamowiniwa, ekitot: wegonidji wedji ouikotchiiżeÆk, enemźØkasożeÆg?
But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, Why tempt ye me, ye hypocrites?

[19] Wapitiichig tipamadiwini joniäs: otinantchi JESOS. okipiėtonauwa tchi ngot jonias.
Shew me the tribute money [said Jesus]. And they brought unto him a penny.
[20] Otinantchi JESOS: Wenidke o chiw missinitchikasot en[é]piėkasotke?
And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription?
[21] Otinauwan: Cęsarse (kitchi okuma) [2] otinantchi : mij Cęsar, Cęsar tipentuk; mij ke KijeMennito, KijeMennito tipentuk.
They say unto him, Caesar's. Then saith he unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's.

Notes:

In the Potawatomi text, letters in brackets could not be read with certainty. Words added to the English translation are enclosed in brackets. The Jesuits constructed an elaborate orthography that utilized diacritical marks extensively. Occasionally, more than one such mark was associated with a single letter. In that event, the second diacritical mark follows the letter with which it is associated in the manuscript. Similarly, when the html symbol set does not include the letter/diacritical mark combination, the diacritical mark is inserted after the letter. In verse 18, /enemźØkasożeÆg/ demonstrates both of these situations.
1 V.16: ekitonog is written as /ekitog/ with a carat between o and g and what look like /no/ or written above it.
2 V. 17 and v. 21: /kitchi okuma/ (a great leader) is an explanatory note added by Gailland.
